Carpark Upgrade Works
Project Description
AWB was awarded the contract to deliver carpark repair works at Westfield Innaloo Shopping Centre, engaged by Scentre Shopping Centre Management. The project aimed to restore the integrity and functionality of the carpark surface, addressing subsidence and drainage issues while improving safety and usability for visitors. AWB successfully delivered a durable and compliant asphalt solution tailored to site requirements, with all works completed to specification and in coordination with centre operations.
Scope Summary
- AWB commenced works in October 2020, beginning with the removal of failing asphalt and site debris. The sunken areas were rebuilt by water binding and compacting 19mm road base to restore original carpark levels and ensure proper drainage into soak well grates.
- New AC10 dense grade black asphalt was supplied and laid across a prepared area totalling 424m² at an average thickness of 40mm. Linemarking works included the installation of two directional arrows and twelve car bays.
The project was delivered over a 7-week period, on time and on budget, with zero lost time injuries (LTIs) and full alignment with Scentre’s expectations for retail infrastructure upgrades

Coordination with Licensed Asbestos Assessors and Occupational Hygienists to obtain clearance certificates and occupancy permits before re-entry.
Defect Rectification & Handover
Final inspections, punch list resolution, and delivery of completion documentation including warranties and maintenance guidance.
