Tadwa WA

AWB was awarded the contract to deliver bathroom modification works to a Balga property, for Technology Assisting Disability WA (TADWA). The project aimed to optimise the existing bathroom layout to meet the needs of NDIS occupants, improving accessibility and functionality for wheelchair users and carers. AWB successfully delivered a compliant and user-friendly bathroom space tailored to individual requirements, with all works completed to specification and in coordination with the client and resident.

Scope Summary

• AWB commenced works in July 2022, collaborating closely with the client, NDIS, and the resident to minimise disruption. The scope included widening the existing door opening, relocating the WC, and modifying the adjacent linen cupboard to expand the accessible bathroom area.
• Additional works included retiling floors, tiling the new vanity splashback, installing a wall-mounted vanity basin and mirror, bathroom fixtures, and electrical upgrades such as new DGPOs, relocated fan light, and switches. Structural modifications were made to facilitate partial removal of hallway and linen cupboard walls, ceiling, and door.
• Services delivered included demolition, electrical, plumbing, cabinetry and joinery, painting, wall and floor finishes, structural door and window works, glazing, and pre-structural preparation.

The project was delivered over a 6-week period, on time and on budget, with zero lost time injuries (LTIs) and full alignment with TADWA’s accessibility goals
