Project Description
AWB was nominated as the preferred contractor by Ventia to deliver the Design & Construct Shade Structure works at RAAF Base Pearce. The project was delivered in three distinct stages, providing protective infrastructure for aircraft assets including the PC9 and Macchi planes. AWB successfully delivered a robust and functional shade solution that met defence standards and operational requirements, with all works completed on time, to specification, and in alignment with secure site protocols.
Scope Summary
AWB’s scope included full design and construction services, comprising:
- Development of design drawings and engineering documentation
- Ground scanning and site preparation
- Installation of temporary fencing for site safety
- Concrete works including slab and footings
- Installation of new shade structures tailored to aircraft specifications
- Supply and installation of LED solar-powered lighting systems
- The project was completed with a strong focus on durability, compliance, and operational efficiency, reinforcing AWB’s capability in delivering infrastructure solutions within secure and regulated environments.

Coordination with Licensed Asbestos Assessors and Occupational Hygienists to obtain clearance certificates and occupancy permits before re-entry.
Defect Rectification & Handover
Final inspections, punch list resolution, and delivery of completion documentation including warranties and maintenance guidance.
