PTA- Perth Station

AWB was engaged by the Public Transport Authority to deliver the design and construction of a new attic office space within the heritage-listed Perth Train Station, serving as the administrative headquarters for Transperth Train Operations. The project was initiated to accommodate future staffing needs driven by the expansion of Perth’s transport network, including METRONET. The new office space provides 17 workstations, a manager’s office, two breakout areas, and a kitchenette, ensuring long-term operational capacity while preserving and enhancing existing infrastructure. AWB successfully delivered a compliant, functional, and modern office space within a heritage structure, enabling PTA and METRONET to expand operations while preserving the architectural integrity of Perth Train Station. The project was completed with minimal disruption to existing occupants and maintained full access to critical mechanical services.

Scope Summary

The project involved extensive structural, architectural, and services upgrades, including:

• Structural Works: New fire-isolated stairwell, fire-rated linings, and ceiling modifications
• Fit-Out: Partitions, ceilings, carpet, painting, kitchenette, and printing area
• Compliance: Upgraded to Type B Construction, fire detection, emergency lighting, and hydrant installation
• Services: Electrical, data, HVAC, and hydraulic installations integrated with PTA systems
• Heritage Restoration: Refurbishment of timber windows and internal finishes
