Highgate Primary School

AWB was awarded the contract to deliver landscaping and external works upgrades at Highgate Primary School, engaged by Spotless Facility Services. The project aimed to transform the senior terrace area into a safe, interactive outdoor space for students, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics. AWB successfully delivered a compliant and engaging environment tailored to school requirements, with all works completed to specification and in coordination with site operations.

Scope Summary

• AWB commenced works by demolishing and removing existing asphalt from the senior terrace area to prepare for the new playground installation. A limestone retaining wall was constructed, complete with stainless steel handrails, tactile tiles, kerbing, and landscaping enhancements.
• A major component of the project involved bitumen surfacing and line marking to create an interactive outdoor zone for student activities. Additional services included electrical, plumbing, and stormwater works, concrete placement, asphalt surfacing, installation of seating, painting, and safety features such as handrails and tactile indicators.
• The project was delivered over a 6-week period, on time and on budget, with zero lost time injuries (LTIs) and full alignment with Spotless Facility Services’ expectations
