Bathroom Refurbishment & Associated Works

Project Description

AWB was awarded the contract to deliver toilet upgrade works at Cambrai Village Estate, a retirement community in Merriwa, on behalf of RAAFA. The project aimed to modernise the facility’s amenities, improve accessibility, and enhance comfort for residents. AWB successfully delivered a high-quality and compliant upgrade tailored to the needs of the retirement village, with all works completed to specification and in coordination with site operations.

Scope Summary

  • AWB commenced works in April 2024, undertaking full demolition and removal of existing fixtures and finishes. The scope included brickwork and rendering, installation of new ceilings and partitions, and replacement of doors, door frames, and hardware.
  • New sanitary fixtures and toilet partitions were installed, along with tiling and full internal painting. Hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical services were upgraded to meet current standards. Security enhancements included the installation of a Salto wall reader and an external gate.

The project was delivered over a 12-week period, on time and on budget, with zero lost time injuries (LTIs) and full alignment with RAAFA’s expectations for resident-focused infrastructure improvements

Transparent and proactive engagement with clients, consultants, and government bodies through regular updates and reporting.

Safety Planning & Risk Management

Development and implementation of SWMS, risk assessments, and protocols for high-risk activities such as working at heights and asbestos removal.

Subcontractor Coordination

Engaging and managing licensed trades and specialists, including asbestos removalists, concreters, roofers, and civil contractors.

Live Environment Management

Delivering works in operational schools, hospitals, offices, and public spaces with minimal disruption to occupants and services.

Environmental & Site Controls

Dust suppression, noise mitigation, waste management, and secure site access to protect people and property.

Final Clearance & Occupancy Certification

Coordination with Licensed Asbestos Assessors and Occupational Hygienists to obtain clearance certificates and occupancy permits before re-entry.

Defect Rectification & Handover

Final inspections, punch list resolution, and delivery of completion documentation including warranties and maintenance guidance.
