Bertram Primary School

AWB was awarded the contract to deliver nature playground, landscaping, and irrigation works at Bertram Primary School. The project aimed to create a safe, engaging, and educational outdoor play environment for students, while upgrading surrounding infrastructure in line with Department of Education guidelines. AWB successfully delivered a fully compliant and imaginative nature play space tailored to the school’s needs, with all works completed to specification and in coordination with Programmed Facility Management.

Scope Summary

• AWB commenced works in December 2020, providing all materials, labour, and equipment required for the full completion of the nature playground. The scope included earthworks and site clearance, modifications to the existing irrigation system, and weed control. Structural elements such as concrete footings and boulder replacements were installed, along with timber play items and various playground equipment.
• Additional works included limestone edging, soil preparation, installation of playground soft fall mulch, and final grading to ensure safety and usability. All works were delivered in accordance with current Australian Standards and Department of Education guidelines.
• The project was completed over a 12-week period, on time and on budget, with zero lost time injuries (LTIs) and full alignment with Bertram Primary School’s vision for outdoor learning and play
